SEC. 542. NATIONAL PARTY CONVENTIONS.
Paragraph (1)(d) of rule XXXV of the Standing Rules of the Senate is amended by adding at the end the
following: ‘‘(5) During the dates of the national party convention for the political party to which a Member
belongs, a Member may not participate in an event honoring that Member, other than in his or her
capacity as the party’s presidential or vice presidential nominee or presumptive nominee, if such event
